Chivasso

Chivasso ( Piedmontese Civas or Ciuvas ) is a municipality with 26,040 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Turin (TO ), Region Piedmont.

The municipality consists of the villages Giove, Betlemme, Torassi, Castel Rosso, Pogliani, Borghetto, Moshe, Mandria, Boschetto and Prato Regio. The neighboring municipalities are Mazzè, Caluso, San Benigno Canavese, Montanaro, Rondissone, Verolengo, Volpiano, Brandizzo, San Sebastiano da Po, Castagneto Po and San Raffaele Cimena. The patron saint of the village is Beato Angelo Carletti. The place was a work of Lancia, was built in the inter alia, the Delta (I). Later it was taken over by Maggiora and were manufactured for Fiat cars in small series, such as the Barchetta and the Lancia Kappa Coupé.

Geography

The village lies at an altitude of 183 m asl. The municipality covers an area of 51 km ².

The Chivasso Station is on the railway line Turin - Milan.
