Coat of arms of El Salvador

The coat of arms of El Salvador is in this form since September 15, 1912 in use.

Description

The center of the coat of arms consists of a triangle in which five volcanoes can be seen sticking out of the sea. They symbolize the five member states of the Central American Federation.

It is a red Phrygian cap on a rod before a golden sun and the date September 15, 1821, the Independence Day of El Salvador, pictured.

Furthermore, there is a rainbow.

Behind the coat of arms protrude five flags of El Salvador. Below is a banner on which the Spanish national motto of El Salvador is:

All this is surrounded by a laurel wreath, which is tied together under the national flag. The wreath is divided into fourteen parts, which the 14 departments, the Salvadoran subnational administrative units symbolize.

Is surrounded by all the letters of gold, ( German: Republic of El Salvador in Central America ) which the Spanish words REPÚBLICA DE EL SALVADOR EN LA AMÉRICA CENTRAL form.
