Collectivity of Saint Martin#Coat of arms

  • History and Development
  • Use and meaning
  • The coat of arms itself

The coat of arms of Saint- Martin, the French part of the island of St. Martin in the West Indies, is more naturalistic than heraldic in its presentation.

In the blue sign with green sign foot and with a blue lake a black sail ship with white gaff sails on two masts is sailing to the left. From the right plate edge protrude green palm leaves and partially cover a golden sun disk without rays and face. A white wader is right in the lawn and left radiates half a red flower with golden slugs.

In the black head of the shield is in golden capital letters, depending on the time period " de VILLE SAINT MARTIN " or " collectivité DE SAINT MARTIN ".
