The coat of arms of the Dominican Republic dates back to 1844 and was last modified in the 1930s.

Description

The current version of the emblem shows the Flag of the Dominican Republic in shield shape.

Above the shield there is a Bible, behind a golden cross and six flags.

Right of the shield is a palm branch, to the left a laurel branch. The two branches are tied together below the shield with a red ribbon on which the official state name on it.

Above the shield is a blue ribbon with the motto of the state in Spanish:
