Coat of arms of Greenland

The coat of arms of Greenland is on a blue shield a polar bear dar.

It is since 1 May 1989, the official coat of arms of Greenland, even if it is the first time already in 1666 under the Danish King Frederick III. showed up.

In previous versions of the crest of the polar bear had as usual for heraldic animals raised his right paw. Since the inhabitants of Greenland, however, believe that polar bears attack with her left paw, this has been changed.
