Döbeln (district)

The county chub from 1990 to 2008 county in the middle of the Free State of Saxony, his territory now belongs to the district of Central Saxony. History

As a geographical unit already existed the Amtshauptmannschaft chub and later in the GDR the circle chub in the Leipzig district in the Kingdom of Saxony.

In the course of the Saxon district reform in 2008, the county chub merged with the districts of Freiberg and Mittweida to the district of Central Saxony. Until then, the district chub was the only one in Saxony, whose boundaries are not the county boundaries were changed in 1952 by reorganisations and mergers.

Economy

Important employers were traditionally resident in Waldheim and chub cosmetics company Florena ( Beiersdorf AG), and resettled companies in the manufacturing sector ( for example, the automotive supplier Autoliv and the mail box manufacturers Renz ).

The scheduled commercial areas ( commercial areas) were utilized differently in the different towns of the district. In the county town of chub only remaining areas were last available thanks to strong settlements, while other areas were still largely undeveloped.
