Fascia, Liguria

Fascia is a small Italian town in the province of Genoa with 96 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location

The municipality is located in the valley on the upper course of the stream Trebbia Cassingheno. The distance to the Ligurian capital Genoa is approximately 56 kilometers.

Near the village in the direction of the municipality Propata, the Parco naturale is regional Antola (Regional Natural Park Antola ), which mainly includes the slopes of Monte Antola (1596 meters). The nature park is known for excellent flowering time above all the Islandflechte, the Red foxglove and lung herbs

Like many municipalities in the Val Trebbia, the population of fascia doubled in the summer time. This increase is due to the seasonal influx in particular the inhabitants of the valley Bisagno, who are looking for cooler temperatures in the Ligurian Apennines.

Fascia forms with seven other municipalities, the mountain community of Alta Val Trebbia.

According to the Italian classification with respect to seismic activity fascia Zone 4 has been assigned. This means that the municipality is in a seismically inert zone.
