Avegno, Liguria

Avegno ( AVEGNO Ligurian ) is a municipality in the province of Genoa with 2546 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location

The municipality is located in the hinterland of the city of Recco on the Golfo Paradiso of the Ligurian Sea. The distance to the Ligurian capital Genoa is about 25 kilometers. Avegno is located on the upper reaches of the creek Recco, which flows through the territory of the municipality with the Bach Arbora.

The municipal area is predominantly hilly; The highest mountains are Mount Caravaggio ( 507 meters) and Montebello ( 657 meters).

The hinterland of the community Avegno forms part of the Comunità Montana Fontanabuona. The community itself is divided into four districts: Avegno, Molino Nuovo, Salto and Testana. In addition, the settlements Arbora, Lupara, Pietrafitta and Vescina be expected to Avegno.

According to the Italian classification with respect to seismic activity Avegno Zone 4 has been assigned. This means that the municipality is in a seismically inert zone.
