Geography

Home Fries is on the edge of the Rhine valley and extends over the foothill to the Black Forest. Through the municipal area of ​​the river Schutter flows. Neighboring communities of Friesenheim are: Lahr, Seelbach, Biberach, Gengenbach, Hohberg, Neuried and Meissen home.

Community structure

The municipality includes the districts Fries Home Fries Home, Heiligenzell, Oberschopfheim, Oberweier and mucking. The districts correspond to the formerly independent municipalities of the same name. Except in the district of Friesland home villages are established in terms of the Baden-Württemberg municipal code, each with its own mayor and Ortschaftsrat as its chairman in the districts. History

The district Oberschopfheim was first mentioned in 763. The territory of the municipality falls in the 11th century to the bishopric of Bamberg, later it comes to the Lords of Geroldseck that pledge the area in 1481 to the Margrave of Baden. First, belonging to the Counts of Baden -Baden, the place fell after their extinction in 1771 at Baden -Durlach.

On January 1, 1972, the two were incorporated previously independent municipalities Heiligenzell and Oberweier. The incorporation of Oberschopfheim took place on 1 April 1972. Schuttern was incorporated on 1 January 1975.

Religions
