Ring home is situated in the Upper Rhine Plain between the Rhine and the first rise of the Black Forest.
Neighboring communities
The municipality is bordered to the north by Grafenhausen, on the east by the city Ettenheim, in the south on the town Herbolzheim in Emmendingen and to the west by Rust.

History
Supposedly, the Celts already have used the ore deposits in the point near ring home adjacent Kahlenberg. First traces of settlement there from the 7th century.
