Fuji Rock Festival
Fuji Rock Festival is a three day rock festival annually in Japanese Naeba Ski Resort (苗場 スキー 場, Naeba Suki - jo ) takes place in Yuzawa.
There, enter Japanese and international music groups on seven different stages. 2005 attracted more than 100,000 visitors the festival. The " Green Stage " is the main stage which is designed for up to 40,000 spectators.
History
The festival began in 1997. The first festival was organized in the vicinity of Mount Fuji. Therefore, it gets its name, "Fuji Rock." In the first year the festival was destroyed by a typhoon. In the second year, the festival was moved to Toyosu, Kōtō, Tokyo. 1999, it was relocated to Naeba.
2008
The festival took place from 25 July to 27 July 2008.
Among other things, the following bands performed on: Bloc Party, Travis, Kasabian, Spoon, My Bloody Valentine, Gossip, Black Market and many others.
2007
The festival took place from Friday July 27 to Sunday 29 July. On the stage, among other things, the following bands were seen: Muse, Kings of Leon, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Juliette and the Licks, Beastie Boys, The Cure, Mika, Kaiser Chiefs, The Chemical Brothers and many more.
2006
2006 ran the festival from Friday, July 28 through Sunday, July 30.
A few of the bands that were present were called Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Jet, The Raconteurs, Sonic Youth, Wolfmother, Snow Patrol, The Hives, Dirty Pretty Things, KT Tunstall, Jason Mraz, The Cooper Temple Clause, Madness, Mogwai, Scissor Sisters, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Super Furry Animals, Gnarls Barkley, The Zutons, Ore ska band- and many others.
2005
The 2005 Festival ran from 29 to 31 July
This year, bands like Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Fatboy Slim, Beck, New Order, Primal Scream and many others participated.
2004
International bands this year were The Chemical Brothers, Franz Ferdinand, The Libertines, Jamie Cullum, Jet, Lou Reed, The Stills, The Streets, Ben Kweller, Santos and The White Stripes.
