Fünfstetten

Fünfstetten is a municipality in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries and a member of the administrative community Wemding.

Geography

Fünfstetten is located in the Region of Augsburg in the hilly countryside between the Swabian Alb and Franconian mountains on the eastern edge of the Ries crater ( Ries ).

Community members are Asbacherhof, Biberhof, Fünfstetten, Heidmersbrunn, Ingershof, Mittelwegerhof, Nussbühl, Upper Beutmühle, Rothenbergerhof and Lower Beutmühle.

History

Between 1057 and 1075 consecrated bishop here Gundekar II of Eichstätt one to St.. Dionysius church dedicated. Fünfstetten was in the Middle Ages under the aristocratic residence Graisbacher rule. In 1233 a gentleman of Fünfstetten is mentioned. In the 14th century, the lords of Wemding acquire property here. The town was the seat of a closed Hofmark, who came to the newly formed Principality of Pfalz- Neuburg 1505. The introduction of the Reformation in 1554 was ordered by the sovereign Count Palatine Otto Heinrich. Count Palatine Wolfgang Wilhelm decreed in 1618 for Fünfstetten recatholicisation. The Hofmark its castle belonged from 1762 to 1810 the barons of Rehlinger. Since the unification of the Wittelsbach land 1777 Fünfstetten part of the Electorate of Bavaria. 1810 came the Hofmark Fünfstetten together with the nearby Otting was sold to Karl Friedrich Stephan von Schonfeld, who was raised in 1817 to the Count of Otting - Fünfstetten. Karl Friedrich Stephan was a bastard son of Friedrich Michael von Pfalz- Birkenfeld and half-brother of King Maximilian I Joseph ( Bavaria ); his successor Maximilian Joseph Graf von Otting - Fünfstetten sold his possessions to the factory owner Oskar shortcuts.

Religions

Fünfstetten is part of the Catholic Diocese of Eichstätt ( Parish Church of St. Dionysius with a magnificent Baroque altar). The parish is one of the Urpfarreien of the diocese.

On the southern outskirts of Fünfstetten is a Baroque Lady Chapel.

Incorporations

On 1 May 1978, until then independent municipality Nussbühl was incorporated with its districts.

Coat of arms

In an ascending red and silver tip is swept, in a black gable houses, on both sides of each one facing towards Silver Fang iron.

  • Elementary School: 1st - 4th Class, 102 students and 6 teachers

Traffic

Just east of Fünfstetten runs the railway line between Nuremberg and Augsburg. The place is connected via the county road 20 DON and community access roads to the surrounding villages and about 5 km in the easternmost federal highway 2.
