The Gaberl is a pass and a ski resort in Styria. A steep road leads up to 1551 m above sea level. A. in the past Stubalpe of Koeflach the upper Mur. It is a former Roman road.

The Gaberl is a popular recreation area for the adjoining countryside. In summer, the area is particularly well suited for long walks. In winter it is very popular for family skiing days with slopes for everyone.

On nice days, the distant view to the northwest extends to the Dachstein and the south and east of the Rieger castle to Hungary and Slovenia.

2006, a small wind farm with two wind turbines and a total capacity of 1200 kW was put into operation on Gaberl. The generated electricity is fed into the network of Stadtwerke Koeflach.

South of Gaberls also connects the roughly equal Hirschegger saddle Mur Valley with Koeflach.
