George DeLuca

George Benjamin DeLuca ( born September 20, 1889 in New York City; † May 2, 1983 ) was an American lawyer, banker and politician ( Democratic Party).

Career

George Benjamin DeLuca was between 1950 and 1954 as a district prosecutor ( District Attorney ) of the Bronx County operates. In the gubernatorial election of 1954 he stood as running mate of William A. Harriman and was elected Vice- Governor of New York. He held this post between 1955 and 1958. During his re-election attempt in 1958 he was defeated by Republican Malcolm Wilson. DeLuca took 1956 and 1960 to the Democratic National Conventions in part. In addition, he was elected Vice President of the Commercial Bank of America in 1959.

He died in 1983 at the North Central Bronx Hospital.

Family

George Benjamin DeLuca was the son of Mariano DeLuca and Catherine ( Bonetti ) DeLuca. His parents came in the 1880s from the province of Belluno (Italy ) in the United States.
