Gottstatt Monastery

The monastery Gottstatt is a former Premonstratensian monastery in the municipality Orpund in Canton Bern, Switzerland.

It was created in 1255 by Count Rudolf I of Neuchâtel - Nidau ​​. Previously, an attempt to build a monastery was in 1247 failed. 1528, the monastery was abolished by the Reformation, and in 1803 it was sold to private. Since 1965, the reformed parish gradually acquires portions of the former monastery. For some time, taught here Georg Simon Ohm.
