Goux-sous-Landet

Goux -sous- lands is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Goux -sous- lands located at 425 m, 19 km south-southwest of the city of Besançon ( straight line ). The village is located in the Jura, on the plateau west of the valley of the Loue, lunged out here in an arc far to the north, at the eastern foot of the height of the lands.

The area of ​​5.42 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The eastern part of the territory occupied by the plateau of Goux, the average is 440 m and consisted partly of meadow land, partly by forest. The plateau has no above-ground rivers, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground. To the west, the municipality's area extends to the densely wooded, elongated ridge of the Bois du lands, which is oriented in a north-south direction. Here the highest elevation of Goux -sous- lands is achieved with 581 m.

Neighboring communities of Goux -sous- lands are Palantine in the north, Rouhe in the east, Cussey -sur- Lison and Villers Point in the south and Pessans and Lavans- Quingey in the West.

History

In the Middle Ages Goux belonged to Kastlanei of Quingey. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. To avoid confusion with other towns of the same name, Goux was officially renamed in 1923 in Goux -sous- lands.

Population

With 58 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Goux -sous- lands is one of the smallest municipalities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886 113 persons were still counted ), only small fluctuations were recorded since the early 1970s.

Economy and infrastructure

Goux -sous- lands was well into the 20th century, a predominantly coined by agriculture and forestry village. Even today, the inhabitants live on the merits of the activity in the first sector. Outside of the primary sector, there are almost no jobs in the village. Some employed persons are also commuters who engage in the surrounding larger towns of their work.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares near a secondary road that leads from Courcelles after muon.
