Rouhe

Rouhe is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Rouhe is located on 375 m, approximately 18 km south-southwest of the city of Besançon ( straight line ). The village is located in the Jura, on a plateau some 100 meters above the valley of the Loue, which reaches out here in a wide arc to the north.

The area of ​​4.19 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The central part of the area is occupied by the plateau of Rouhe, the average is at 370 m and consisted partly of meadow land, partly by forest. To the west, the municipality's area extends over a terrain level to the plateau of Goux. Here the highest elevation of Rouhe is achieved with 472 m. The eastern boundary runs along the top edge of the escarpment that slopes down to the valley of the Loue; in the far north, the area extends down to the river Loue.

Neighboring communities of Rouhe are Palantine and Courcelles in the north, Rurey and Châtillon -sur- Lison in the east, Cussey -sur- Lison in the south and Goux -sous- lands in the West.

History

In the Middle Ages Rouhe belonged to the rule Châtillon -sur- Lison. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France.

Population

With 83 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Rouhe is one of the smallest municipalities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1881, 124 people were still counted ), a slight increase in population was recorded since the early 1990s again.

Economy and infrastructure

Rouhe was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by agriculture and forestry village. Even today, the inhabitants live on the merits of the activity in the first sector. Outside of the primary sector, there are almost no jobs in the village. Some employed persons are also commuters who engage in the surrounding larger towns of their work.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a secondary road that leads from Courcelles Châtillon -sur- Lison. Another road connection with Rurey.
