Grant Lewis

Grant Lewis ( born January 20, 1985 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an American professional ice hockey player who is under contract with the Red Bull EHC München in the German Ice Hockey League since 2013.

Career

Grant Lewis began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the Pittsburgh Forge, for the American Hockey League, he was active in the Junior League North in the 2002/03 season. Then he attended for four years the Dartmouth College, for its hockey team, he participated in parallel on game operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. There he was able to convince and was elected in 2004 to the All- Rookie team and the first All-Star team and in 2006 in the second All- Star team ECAC Hockey. During his university days of the defenders in the NHL Entry Draft, was selected in 2004 in the second round than a total of 40 players from the Atlanta Thrashers. For their farm team Chicago Wolves he played from 2007 to 2010 in the American Hockey League and won with the team during the 2007 /08 season the Calder Cup. For the Atlanta Thrashers even he came to his only use in the National Hockey League during the season 2008/09. The 2009/10 season he finished with the Hershey Bears, with whom he also won the Calder Cup.

In September 2010, Lewis was transferred to the Nashville Predators, played throughout the season 2010/11 but only for their AHL farm team Milwaukee Admirals. For the season 2011/12 the Americans were obliged by HC Lev Poprad from the Kontinental Hockey League. After a year in the KHL Lewis moved in August 2012 to the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Only one season later, the EHC Munich Red Bull was the obligation of the defense known, who signed a one year contract.
