Gschaid Birkfeld is a municipality with 920 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Styria.

Geography

Gschaid Birkfeld is located in the district of Weiz in the Austrian province of Styria.

There are no other cadastral except Gschaid Birkfeld.

History

1318 Geschayd was first mentioned. At first it was a pass over the Zeise leak, the Weiz with Hartberg Association. The coat of arms of Gschaid shows a wolf (* for Wolfsgrube ) and two roads that are close to the pass.

Policy

The council is made up after the elections of 2010 as follows: 6 ÖVP, FPÖ 3. Mayor Gerhard Gruber ( ÖVP).

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 July 1990. Coat Description: In red two from the plate corners coming, curly, in the middle touching silver stakes, highlighted by a border silver wolf.
