Hirnsdorf is a municipality with 688 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) and an area of 4.53 km ² in the district of Weiz in Styria.

Geography

There are no other cadastral except Hirnsdorf.

The highest elevation is the vineyard (516 meters above sea level. A., southeastern foothills of Kulms ) at the northern boundary of the municipality.

History

Hirnsdorf was the first founded by the clearing center Feistritzwerke of settlement. The dominions Stubegg and Herbersteins were landlords at the site. The abolition of the manorial system was carried out in 1848., The local church as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938 the congregation to Reichsgau Styria came from 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Policy

The parish council consists of Mayor Frederick Wachsmann ( ÖVP ) Vice Mayor Bernhard Hödl (ÖVP ) and municipal treasurer Member of Parliament Siegfried Tromaier ( SPÖ). The council is made up after the elections of 2010 were as follows: 5 ÖVP, SPÖ 4 - FPÖ

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 May 1983. Coat Description: In red over a silver openwork millstone seven adjoining silver wine leaves in chevron shape.
