Guatemala national football team

The Guatemalan national football team is the national football team of the Central American country of Guatemala.

When CONCACAF Gold Cup 1996 national team was able to achieve the best result. At the tournament in the U.S., she reached behind Mexico, Brazil and the host to fourth place.

World Cup Qualifiers

So far, the team failed to qualify for a World Cup.

In the qualifying round of the World Cup 2006 you failed on the last lap short of Trinidad and Tobago.

As part of the qualification for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, the team met in the second round of CONCACAF zone on St. Lucia. The first leg on June 14, 2008 in Guatemala City ended 6-0, the second leg was held in Los Angeles ( USA) on 21 June. Guatemala won here 3-1. In the third round of qualifying the Central Americans came to the United States, Trinidad and Tobago and Cuba. At the end you won 3rd place and therefore did not qualify for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.
