Haisyn

Hajssyn (Ukrainian Гайсин; Gaissin Russian, Polish Hajsyn ) is a city in the Vinnytsia Oblast of Ukraine. It is located almost 82 km south-east of Vinnytsia and is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons Hajssyn. At the city council community has next to the city proper and the settlement Mlynky ( Млинки ), northwest of the city.

The town was founded in 1600, received in 1744 the Magdeburg Law and was first in the province Braclaw to Poland. 1795 Hajssyn eventually became part of the Russian Empire and was in the government of Podolia. From 1975 to 1979 the city was the " DDR construction site " at the Druzhba route. Since 1991, the city is a part of today's Ukraine.
