Heckenbach
Heck Bach is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Altenahr.

Geography
Districts are Beilstein, Blasweiler, Cassel, Frankenau (formerly dog angle) Fronrath, Lower rear Bach, Bach and upper tail Watzel.
History
The first documentary mention of the place rear Bach goes back to the year 772. A Bert Rudis and her son Waningus gave the monastery Kesseling lands.
To a pre-Christian colonization of the area only a few archaeological sources were opened. In contrast, in the district tail Bach's numerous traces of settlement of the Romans were found.
1938 Lower and Upper rear Bach, Beilstein, Blasweiler, Cassel, Fronrath and Watzel were evicted in the application of the Air Force training area Ahrbrück. Today's local church Heckenbach emerged in the early 1960s.
Population
Heck Bach, with more than 27 km ² and 260 inhabitants, is the second largest in terms of area, but in terms of population smallest community in the municipality Altenahr. Since the establishment of the township the population number varies only slightly and is now at about the same level as in 1961.

The local council in the rear stream is composed of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Cultural monuments
In rear Bach are some Asked conservation cultural monuments.
- Catholic Church of St. Margaret, which originated around the year 1300,
- In the cemetery eight grave crosses, dating from the 16th to the 18th century, as well as three cast iron crosses from the 19th century,
- On the outskirts of Blasweiler two -way crosses in 1741 and 1771st
- Catholic Church of St. Pancras and Margarita, built in 1828/29,
- Crosses in the cemetery of the 18th century.
- The Catholic Chapel of St. Michael from the 18th century.
Others
In October 2000, a 18 km long historic trail was opened, which intended to bring the beauty of nature and landscape to rear Bach. Beginning of leading by Wacholderheide and dense forests is the path in Lower rear Bach.
On the Schöneberg is the telecommunications tower rear Bach -Schöneberg.
