Kesseling

Kesseling is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Altenahr.

Geography

Kesseling located eight kilometers southwest of the town of Bad Neuenahr- Ahrweiler in the valley of the boiler Inger Bach. It occurs in the middle of the village from the confluence of Herschbach and Staffeler Bach and ends four kilometers west at Ahrbrück in the Ahr. Geographically, the municipality can assign the Southern Ahrbergland, which is characterized by deeply incised valleys widely branched. History

Records for the first mention of the place 762 This was a gift of the Frankish king Pippin the Younger to the Prüm Abbey. The monastery cell Casleoca was instrumental in the Christianization of the Ahrregion and the northern Eifel. In addition, the monks led a wine cultivation in the region.
