Lind, Ahrweiler

Lind is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Altenahr.

The municipality consists of the three districts Lind Lind, Obliers and Plittersdorf.

History

Oldest piece of evidence for the existence of Lind ( Linde ) is the Prüm urbary a freight directory Prüm Abbey, from 893 in 1222, Lind is a fief of the Counts of Are- Hochstaden and in 1316 it is in the Liber Valoris as a parish in Ahrgaudekanat of the Archdiocese Cologne out, it belongs to 1802. 1692 Lind is robbed at the 2nd Bonn siege three times of Brandenburg troops.

Today's church was re- formed on 30 March 1971 from the dissolved municipalities Lind (287 inhabitants), Obliers (58 E. ) and Plittersdorf (101 E. ).

Population Development

The first exact figures are from 1670: 30 houses = about 150 inhabitants, then 1684: 130 communicants = about 175 inhabitants and 1743: 180 communicants = approx 240 inhabitants.

Parish council

The local council in Lind consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

The blazon is: " In a Green fallen into wandered silver tip, is a rooted green lime. In front a golden tower with black building openings. Back an upright golden key ".

Tourism

By Lind of the main trail leads 2a of Eifelverein, the 183 km long Karl Kaufmann- way. Four circular walks Hiking Association Lind eV from a total of 35 km in length provide sustainable landscape impressions. Once a year a mountain time trial takes place with a distance of about 4 km with 255 meters height of Ahrbrück to Lind, a gradient which otherwise attracts many cyclists from the region. The Ahr Cycle Route in the Ahr valley is not far away. By Lind leads since 2012 the long distance footpath AhrSteig.
