Meuspath

Meuspath is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Adenau.

Geography

The village lies on the main road 258, the Meuspath among others Nürburg connects the southwest and Herresbach in the Northeast. Other neighboring municipalities are Herschbroich in the north and in the south Welcherath. The old Nürburgring Nordschleife ( Green Hell ) passes to the north by Meuspath.

To Meuspath includes the residential places Balkhausen, In Stroth and Krebsbacherhof.

History

The first documentary mention of the place occurs in the early Middle Ages in the year 1202. The place name derives from the Middle High German " Muspach " in the meaning " marsh river ". In feudal times the place was part of the Office of Nürburg in the Electorate of Cologne. In the Prussian era the place was formed together with Drees one belonging to the mayor's Kelberg community.

Parish council

The local council in Meuspath consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Economy and infrastructure

In the northeast of the community of the industrial park is located on the Nürburgring, in the southwest of the heliport.

Thanks to its location near the Nürburgring branches of many automakers have here in recent times settled that perform here tests for new models and prototypes.
