Herschbroich

Herschbroich is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Adenau.

Geographical location

The municipality lies in the Eifel Mountains, next to Nurburg, Breidscheid and Quiddelbach one of four villages, which lies within the North Loop of the Nürburgring.

To Herschbroich includes the residential places Old Castle and Brigitte.

History

Herschbroich was first mentioned in 1202.

By the end of the 18th century belonged to the Electoral Cologne Herschbroich Office Nürburg and Schultheißerei Adenau. Under the French administration Herschbroich belonged to the Canton Adenau in the Rhine -Moselle department. Following decisions at the Vienna Congress, the left bank of the Rhine, thus Herschbroich, the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 assigned. According to the administrative structure of the newly created Prussian Herschbroich belonged from 1816 to the mayoralty in a circle Adenau Adenau, who was assigned to the Region of Koblenz in the Rhine Province (1822 ).
