Rodder

Rodder is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Adenau.

Geographical location

Rodder is Adenau in the Eifel away from busy thoroughfares and relatively secluded in the Eifel. Neighboring municipalities are Reifferscheid in the northwest, Honerath the southwest, Throws in the south, southwest, and Antweiler Müsch in the northwest. History

Rodder was first documented in 975, as the place owned by the Abbey of Trier was St. Maximin. By the end of the 18th century it belonged to the Electoral Cologne office Nürburg and the office of mayor Reifferscheid. In 1667 the plague killed almost the entire population of the village.

Under the French administration Rodder belonged to the Canton Adenau in the Rhine -Moselle department.
