Heinz Müller (cyclist)

Heinz Müller ( born September 16, 1924 in Tuningen, † 25 September 1975 in Schwenningen ) was a German racing driver and World Champion.

Heinz Müller was a German youth champion in 1941. As an adult, he was successful in many races, especially when criteria. He won several stages in the Tour of Germany. His most significant success was the victory at the Road World Championships of professional cyclist in 1952 in Luxembourg; the third place was taken by his compatriot Ludwig Hörmann. In 1953 Müller was German champion of professionals in the road race. In 1955 he took part in the Tour de France, but gave up during the fourth stage. Reason to have been stimulants that Müller had received from a team staff without his knowledge and of which he had become ill.

Müller also denied 26 six-day races, including as a partner of Manfred Donike.

Heinz Müller died at the age of 51 years, a few days after leukemia had been diagnosed with.
