Herøy is a Norwegian municipality in Nordland Fylke.

In Norway, there is a second municipality with the same name: Herøy Fylke in More og Romsdal location.

The community is spread over several islands. The islands North Herøy, Sør- Herøy, Tenna, Øksningan, Seløy above Staulen are connected by bridges and densely populated compared to other islands of the municipality. Sparsely populated the islands Brasøy, Prestøy, Husvær and Sandvær. With the northern island Dønna the village is connected by a bridge. The municipality can be reached from the mainland only by a ferry (after Herøy or Dønna ). Ferries depart from the places Sandnessjøen and Søvik.

The administrative center of the municipality is the place Silvalen.
