Höfen, Tyrol

Courts is a municipality with 1247 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Reutte, Tyrol ( Austria ). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Reutte.

Geography

Farms located southwest of the main town of Reutte district on the left side of the Lech. The municipal area extends up to 1938 m high Hahnenkamm with the ski resort Alpe Höfener.

The villages yards (711 inhabitants), Hornberg ( 207 inhabitants) and plates ( 334 inhabitants; stand each 15 May 2001) form a wide -knit urban ribbon. The village cockscomb, consisting of a few scattered houses is not permanently inhabited.

History

Courts was first mentioned in 1427 and one of the youngest settlements of Außerfern. Here, against a construction of the bridge from Reutte to Lechaschau salt transport and the floating timber on the Lech a major role, as there was here a ford across the Lech to Ehenbichl.

At the beginning of the 17th century, the cultivation of flax played a role, from which developed the textile factory Reutte. An important operation is the company Koch Media in the distribution of CDs and DVDs with subsidiaries in Europe. This helps the community to a balanced commuter balance.

1956, the airfield ( the only one in the district) was opened for glider pilots, which is now also approved for single-engine airplanes.

In 1977 awarded community emblem symbolizes the home the place name and refers to the flat bloom on the earlier significant flax. The colors of the flag are yellow-blue community.
