Höhnhart

Höhnhart is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Braunau am Inn in Innviertel with 1379 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The competent court is the district court district of Braunau am Inn. Until 1934 was the name of the municipality Henhart.

Geography

Höhnhart is located on 480 m altitude in Innviertel southeast of the town of Braunau. The expansion is 5.7 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 7.7 km. The total area is 22 km ². 29.1 % of the area is forested, 63.2 % of the area is used for agriculture.

Coat of arms

Official description of the municipality coat of arms: In black on green, fringed by a golden bar Dreienberg a golden maple branch with three golden leaves. Awarded by resolution of the Upper Austrian Provincial Government on 10 July 1978. The municipality colors are black and yellow - green.

History

898 the village was first mentioned as "cum foresto ad honhart ". Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, it belongs since 1814 finally to Upper Austria. 1934, the name of the municipality of Henhart in Höhnhart was changed. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.

Policy
