Johan Philip Asbæk

Johan Philip " Pilou " Asbæk ( born March 2, 1982 in Copenhagen, Denmark ) is a Danish actor.

Life

Johan Philip Asbæk grew up in a side street to Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen, the son of the well-known since the 1970s, the artist couple Patricia Asbæk and Jacob Asbæk. Because of its independent and stubborn character above all, he was sent by his parents to the strict and authoritarian boarding Herlufsholm near Næstved. And though he hated the boarding school, he remained there for several years and started in the Acting interested. So he wrote and directed his first own plays in Herlufsholm. After finishing school, he met Bill Pullman, who just turned Dear Wendy, and also decided to become an actor, so he began studying acting at the Statens Teaterskole, where he graduated in 2008.

He subsequently received minor and major roles, including in Oplevs award-winning drama Worlds Apart and Fischer also award-winning drama A family. Already on his first leading role in the Danish prison drama R, he was awarded not only with the Shooting Star of the Berlinale, he was also awarded each for Best Actor at the Danish Bodil Film Award and Best Actor at the Danish Film Award Robert. Most recently, he was in addition to several other films in the Danish hit series Borgen - Dangerous cliques, which has up to 1.4 million viewers to see.

Asbæk is in a relationship with the Danish playwright Anna Bro and fan of FC Copenhagen.

On February 4, 2014 it was announced that he will moderate along with Lise Rønne and Nikolaj Koppel the Euro Vision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen.
