History

Großkötz belonged to the Austrian Margraviate of Burgau, basic and court gentleman was from 1408 until the mid- 18th century, the Ulmer patrician family Ehinger. Since the peace treaties of Brno and Bratislava in 1805 the place belonged to Bavaria. In contrast Kleinkötz ruled until 1806, the patrician Holzapfel of Herxheim, being the streets court shared with the Reich pin Wettenhausen. Incorporations

The community Kötz was established on July 1, 1972 through the voluntary merger of the previously independent municipalities Großkötz and Kleinkötz. The community Ebersbach was incorporated on May 1, 1978 at the regional reform.

VfL Großkötz 1924 e.V.

VfL Großkötz 1924 eV is a local sports club. The club was founded in April 1924. Currently the club has about 800 active and passive members. The football team currently plays in the circle class West 1 in Swabia. The volleyball team is the most successful of its kind in the county and play in the national league.

Concert Kötz e.V.

The Concert Kötz was founded in 2003 from the two Kötzer tradition chapels Musikverein and Kolpingkapelle. The band consists of the root chapel with about 60 active musicians.

Kötzer fools Club 1976 e.V.

The Kötzer fools Club 1976 eV is a Faschingsverin in Kötz who just maintains the traditions during carnival time in Swabia and organized various events to do so. The club was founded in 1976 and is known throughout the county.
