La Bastidonne

La bastidonne is a commune with 719 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vaucluse and the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.

Geography

La bastidonne located in the southeast of the département of Vaucluse and is surrounded by the municipalities Pertuis and La Tour- d'Aigues. Nearest large city is Pertuis in the west ( 5 km).

In the north of the parish, the mountains of the Luberon extends to the Luberon Regional Nature Park, to which the municipality belongs. South of La bastidonne lies the valley of the Durance. Part of the municipality in the southeast is occupied by the Biosphere Reserve Luberon Lure.

Traffic

The route Departmental D973 runs on an east-west axis of Pertuis coming towards Mirabeau.

Nearest railway station is the railway station Pertuis, with the obtained subsequent to the cities of Lyon, Marseille and Aix -en- Provence.

Attractions

The road between Mirabeau and La Basti Done proceeds via a strewn with pine and oak plateau. To the small Romanesque church of the 13th century around to group multiple tiled roof houses. 500 meters east of the center are the end of the 1990s restored ruins of the chapel of St -Julien together Hermitage. The hermitage was built in the 17th century and later abandoned.

In a small orchard in the village with almond trees 17 rare traditional varieties of the Luberon are harvested. The almond has a long tradition and has existed in the region for over 1000 years.
