La Chapelle-devant-Bruyères

La Chapelle- devant- Bruyeres is a commune in the Vosges department in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Saint- Dié -des-Vosges, in the canton of Corcieux and founded, to the 1997 Local Government Association, Val de nine.

Geography

The 631 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) scoring municipality of La Chapelle- devant- Bruyeres is located between Epinal and Saint- Dié in the Vosges.

In the municipality of L' Bheumey empties into the nine which flows through the Vologne the Moselle. The about 450 meters, the valley floor is lined with partially striking mountain. The highest is 768 m measured Mont Moyennel. The municipality has shares in vast forest areas: the south at Forêt de domaniale Vologne, in the north at the Forêt de Bruyeres communale.

At La Chapelle include the districts Ivoux and the adjoining Vienville Saint -Jacques.

History

In 1867 there were in the town of La Chapelle 880 acres of arable land, 523 acres of meadow, 290 acres of woodland, 56 acres of garden land, 69 acres lay fallow. The main crops were then wheat, barley, oats and potatoes. Outside of agriculture, there were few job opportunities ( limestone quarry, starch production, sawmill and mill).

Economy and infrastructure

In the community there are still five farms in full or part-time working. In addition to the small business and the industry plays ( among other textile coating ) an increasing role in two commercial areas ( ZA du Moulin, ZA de la Gare) has settled.

Transport links

The town of La Chapelle- devant- Bruyeres is located on the secondary road D60, which runs from Bruyeres about Corcieux after Anould. This road is also the shortest route from Epinal to the Col du Bonhomme in the Vosges. The railway line Arches Saint- Dié without first breakpoint by La Chapelle. The nearest are located in the neighboring communities Laveline -devant- Bruyeres and Biffontaine.
