Lažany (Strakonice District)

Lažany ( German Laschan, formerly Enis - Laschan or Miltschitz - Laschan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-west of Sedlice in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Strakonice.

Geography

Lažany located in the hills Blatenská pahorkatina. At the northeastern outskirts is the pond Zděný, fishpond to the southeast of the Kořenský. To the north rises the Hurka (546 m), in the northeast of Křídlí ( 555 m ) east of the Holý vrch ( 562 m), in the southeastern Trubny vrch ( 577 m ) southwest of the Pavlovec ( 553 m) and in the northwest of the Na Borkách (554 m).

Neighboring towns are Čekanice in the north, Ovčín and Sedlice in the northeast, Sosnovec, Pilský Mlýn and Křídlí in the east, Kořenský Mlýn, Hradec, Rojice and Láz the southeast, Chrášťovice and Třebohostice in the south, Na Sázkách, Doubravice and Nahošín the southwest, Katovsko and Bratronice in the west and Milčice, Samota, Chválov, Záboří and Jindřichovice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Lažany took place in 1384 as the property of jeże of Lazan. From 1402 the estate of the family of Žakavec Lazan belonged. First owner of this generation was 1402-1422 Heinrich Žakavec that on the Helfenburg is proven as a viscount. He was followed in January Žakavec, from 1489 to Nicholas and Lew Žakavec brothers and Wenzel 1525 Žakavec of Lazan. Three years later he sold the property to Wolf by Riesenberg on Janovice, who sold it in 1550 to Pavel Kořenský of Terešov. In 1840 the estate Laschan - Miltschitz included a floor space of 778 square fathoms yoke 814. A total of 472 people were living on the estate, including four Israelite families. Main source of income was the agriculture whose income was mediocre because of the rocky and sandy soil. The estate included the villages Laschan and Miltschitz ( Milčice ). The Office Village Laschan / Lazan consisted of 33 houses with 258 Czech-speaking inhabitants, including three Israelite families. To distinguish from the near - lying Laschan Desfours ( Defurovy Lazany ) the village was most often called Enis - Laschan or Miltschitz - Laschan. In the village there was a grand castle with a public chapel, fruit and flower garden and parking, an estate, an office building, a sheep, a brewery, a spirit house, a Pottaschensiederei and a hunting lodge. Offsides were the Kořenský - mill sawmill ( Kořenský Mlýn ) and a brick lodge with Heger apartment ( Sosnovec ). Vicarage was Zabór. Until the mid-19th century Laschan remained the official village of Allodialgutes Laschan - Miltschitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Enisovy Lažany / Enis - Laschan formed in 1850 a part of the community Čekanice in the district administration and the judicial district of the Blatná. Wenzel Freiherr Enis of Atter and Iveaghe (1820-1902) acquired at the time the castle and let them Kámen 1860-1870 regotisieren. When the municipality Doubravice proposed the establishment of a separate school, could Wenzel Freiherr Enis achieve that this was built in Enisovy Lažany. In 1960 Lažany was assigned to the Okres Strakonice during the lifting of the Okres Blatná. In 1964 the annexation to Doubravice. Since the closure of the primary school in the 1980s, the lessons take place in Záboří. The school building was then converted into a housing unit located in the castle of the old people's home and transferred to its closure in 2002 the community. Lažany became independent again on 1 January 1992.

Attractions

  • Castle Lažany, it was in the 16th century in the Renaissance style in place of a probable 14th- century celebrations as the seat of the Knights of Enis Atter and Iveaghe. In 1760 there was a baroque reconstruction and extension.
