London Borough of Islington

The London Borough of Islington [ ɪzlɪŋtən ] is a city district of London. It lies immediately north of the city center. With the establishment of the administrative region of Greater London in 1965, he emerged from the Metropolitan Borough of Islington and the Metropolitan Borough of Finsbury in the former County of London. The population continued in 2008 from 75.4 % White, 6.6 % Asian, 9.6% black and 2.4 % Chinese together.

In Islington there are two prisons ( Prison Holloway and Pentonville Prison ), a former prison is Coldbath Fields. Furthermore, there is the Emirates Stadium of Arsenal FC and the Sadler's Wells theater complex.

In Clerkenwell has been produced since 1786, the famous London Dry Gin Gordon's.
