Louis Oosthuizen

Lodewicus Theodorus " Louis " Oosthuizen (born 19 October 1982) is a South African professional golfer.

Oosthuizen was born in Mossel Bay, South Africa. Earlier in his career he was supported financially by the Foundation of his compatriot Ernie Els. In 2000 he was a member of the victorious South African team at the World Amateur Championships. He won several amateur titles before he was at the age of 19 years professional golfer in 2002.

He has won five professional title on the South African Sunshine Tour. He has played for the first time on the PGA European Tour in 2003 and since 2004 has been a permanent member of this tour. In 2009 he finished the Race to Dubai to 31st place. In addition, he has already performed in the top 50 in the World Golf Rankings.

In March 2010 he won the Open de Andalucia de Golf his first title on the PGA European Tour.

With the victory at The Open Championship 2010, he celebrated the biggest success of his career. He showed a strong performance across all rounds and won by seven strokes ahead of the tournament.
