The 22 election Luxembourg chamber ( Luxembourgish Chamber whales) found on 7 June 2009 at the same place with the European elections. In this case, all 60 members of the Chambre des Députés were re- elected for five years.

Situation before the election

Luxembourg was ruled by a grand coalition of Christian and Social Democrats (CSV and LSAP ) since the parliamentary elections of 2004. Was Prime Minister Jean- Claude Juncker (CSV), Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn (LSAP ).

* The Biergerlëscht ( civil list ) occurred only in the electoral districts of North and South.

* The Fräi party Luxemburg ( Free Party of Luxembourg ) was briefly in the years 2003 and 2004

The election brought only slight changes. Junckers CSV also gained two seats and was thus slightly stronger from the election out, while the coalition partners LSAP a seat lost - as well as DP and ADR. Déi steering, which was represented for the first time from 1999 to 2004 in the Chamber of Deputies with a seat, managed to re- enter parliament. With 3.3% of the votes she repeated exactly their result at the Chamber elections in 1999.

CSV and LSAP decided to continue the grand coalition with Juncker as Prime Minister.
