Mae Yom National Park

The Mae Yom National Park ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ แม่ ยม ) is a national park in Thailand. It is located in the northwestern region of the country.

History

The Mae Yom National Park on 1 March 1986 appointed 51 national park of Thailand. The name was given to the park by the river " Maenam Yom ", but only in 1984, was originally called the Park Mae Pung ( แม่ ปุ ง ). The impetus for the appointment of the park to the National Park was the former Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Narong Wongwan ( นาย ณรงค์ วงศ์ วรรณ ) in 1982.

Geography

The National Park covers an area of ​​284,218.75 rai ( 454.75 km ² ), it is in the northern province of Phrae, in the district ( Amphoe ) and song in the district ( Amphoe ) Ngao of Lampang Province

The park consists of a long rocky mountain range with the mountains such as Doi Luang, Doi Doi Khun Huai and Yaao. The bedrock consists of granite, slate and limestone.

Climate

As in almost all other parts of the country there are also three seasons: the rainy, winter and summer seasons. Depending on the altitude level off at different temperatures can be found here. The rainy season lasts from June to September.
