Marek Mintal [ marɛk minta ː ɫ ] ( born September 2, 1977 in Žilina, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak football player and current coach. By 2003, he was awarded the MŠK Žilina Slovak twice champion and two-time top scorer. After moving to the 1st FC Nuremberg he was two-time top scorer of the second Bundesliga top scorer of the first Bundesliga, DFB Cup winner and played in the European Cup. Most recently, he was active for Hansa Rostock and the second team of the 1st FC Nuremberg. In Slovakia, he was named Footballer of the Year twice and once to the football player of the decade, the Nuremberg fans voted him to the midfield legend of the century. He is currently assistant coach of the professionals of the 1st FC Nuremberg.

Career as a player

Žilina (1996-2003)

Mintál started his footballing career at the Slovakian first division MŠK Žilina. 1 FC Nuremberg

Second Bundesliga (2003-2004)

For the season 2011/12 Mintál moved to the then second division side FC Hansa Rostock. Farewell game with the first team (2012 )

On July 21, 2012, the 1st FC Nuremberg Mintál honored farewell from professional football with a testimonial match.
