Maserada sul Piave

Maserada sul Piave is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9339 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Treviso in Veneto. The community is located about 11 kilometers northwest of Treviso south of the Piave.

History

Already in ancient Roman times was a settlement here, as the discovery of aedicules and graves from this period shows. By the 11th century the family Collalto ruled over the local fiefdom. 1231 was the Abbey of Saint Eustace in Nervesa della Battaglia Grundherrin on Maserada until finally the Republic of Venice took possession of the countries.

Traffic

To the east of the township the Autostrada A27 leading from Mestre direction Piave valley and the Dolomites. The nearest railway station is located in Villorba - Lacenigo.
