Mike Siklenka

Michael " Mike" Siklenka ( born December 18, 1979 in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player, ice hockey league has a contract with EC KAC at Erste Bank since January 2011.

Career

Mike Siklenka began his career as a hockey player with the Seattle Thunderbirds, for which he was active from 1997 to 1999 in the Western Hockey League. During this period, he was selected by the Washington Capitals in the NHL Entry Draft in 1998 in the fifth round as the 118th overall player, for which he, however, never played. Instead, the defenders ran until 2002, a total of three years to Washington's farm team, the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League, and the Hampton Roads Admirals and Richmond Renegades of the East Coast Hockey League. On 27 January 2002, he signed a contract as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers, for in a game in the National Hockey League he was in the 2002/03 season on the ice. He spent the entire rest of the season but their AHL farm team in Philadelphia Phantoms.

For the season 2003/ 04 Siklenka moved to the New York Rangers, for whom he played his second and so far last game in the NHL. After about a month he was in November 2003, but again committed by his former club Philadelphia Flyers, played until season's end, however, only in the AHL for the Philadelphia Phantoms and Utah Grizzlies, and in the ECHL for the Trenton Titans. In the summer of 2004, the right-handed shooter joined the EC KAC in the Austrian Hockey League, with whom he almost wins with 3:4 failed in the 2004/05 season in the playoff finals at the Vienna Capitals. The 2006/07 season spent the Canadians in Leksand IF in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second division. Even after this year he remained in Northern Europe, where he also was a season long at Lukko Rauma of the Finnish SM- liiga under contract. In summer 2008, the former NHL players returned to Austria, where he was in the championship finals his former club EC KAC defeated the reigning champions EC Red Bull Salzburg.

In the 2010/11 season he ran for the Chicago Wolves, the farm team of the Atlanta Thrashers on before Siklenka was obliged by the EC KAC in the Austrian Hockey League in January 2011.
