Mönchpfiffel-Nikolausrieth

Mönchpfiffel - Nikolausrieth is a municipality of the Community funds management center Artern in the Thuringian Kyffhauserkreis and is located near the town of Artern. The formation of the church took place in 1956 from the villages Mönchpfiffel and Nikolausrieth.

History

In a resulting 881-899 Directory of tithing of Hersfeld Monastery ( Hersfeld tithe directory) is mentioned as requiring a tenth place in the frieze Bablide field Mönchpfiffel.

Was Nikolausrieth in the territory of the Golden Meadows for the first time in 1226 mentioned in a deed as Walkenrieder Novale St. Nicolai. J. M. Schamelius mentioned in his monastery lexicon of 1733 a nunnery founded as 1236 and " ruined " by the Reformation.

A notable feature is the fact that the two districts belonging to 2008 different churches. So Nikolausrieth was part of the Church Province of Saxony, while Mönchpfiffel belonged to the Thuringian church. Since 2009, both belonging to the newly formed Evangelical Church in Central Germany. This results from the fact that the helmets in this area is the former border between the Weimar exclave Altstedt and the Prussian province of Saxony.

Mönchspfiffel has been a historic monastery as a branch of the monastery Walkenried. 1920 to 1945 it was a Thuringian state property. Until 1991 it belonged to the VEG and also for LPG with animal and plant production. 1995 sale to Raiffeisen - Agil Warengenossenschaft.

With effect from 1 October 1945, by then located in Thuringia Mönchpfiffel was assigned to the circle Sangerhausen the province of Saxony.
