Geography

Location and landscape

The community moss creek is located approximately 25 kilometers west of Ried and 10 kilometers south-east of Braunau am Inn. It lies on the western edge of the Inn and Hausruckviertler hill country, between the Inn Valley in the north, the west and Mattigtal Kobernaußerwald in the south.

The municipality comprises the lower Moosbachtal where it about 7 ½ miles from the shallow north, which already belongs to the indoor unit 's Inn Valley, extending to the south, already in the indoor unit house jerk and Kobernaußerwald into it. The Ostwestausdehnung is more than 5 kilometers from the ridge Mattigtal / Moosbachtal at the eastern edge of the Schachawalds.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Grubedt and Waasen.

The only Zählsprengel is moss creek.

History

The discovery of a stone ax in the municipal area has historically colonization very far into the past. The Keltenschanze in Schachawald is probably latènezeitlich.

After centuries of belonging to the whole of Bavaria Innviertel came by the Peace of Teschen in 1779 to Austria.

From the late Middle Ages to the 1848 coined two center points of the city: Castle and Hofmark Waasen, with changing owner families. Waasen is still the largest town in the municipality, as well as the parish and manorial moss Bach. Following the lifting of Untertänigkeitsverhältnisse in the revolution of 1848/ 49, the local churches moss creek was formed by 1851 from the control community because Waasen and Grubedt.

2011 Schachawald was designated as a priority zone location space for the expansion of wind energy. So far, no viable project came about.
