Mueang Udon Thani District

Amphoe Mueang Udon Thani ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง อุดรธานี ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Udon Thani. The Udon Thani Province is located in the northwestern part of Northeast Thailand, Isaan. The capital of the province of Udon Thani Udon Thani is also called.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) are the Amphoe Phen, Phibun Rak, Nong Han, Prachaksinlapakhom, Kumphawapi, Nong Saeng Nong Wua So, Kut Chap and Ban Phue. All Amphoe located in the province of Udon Thani.

History

Originally called Ban Mak Khaeng this district ( บ้าน หมากแข้ง ). He was one of four districts of Udon Thani, were established during the Thesaphiban - administrative reform in 1908. In 1938, Mak Khaeng was renamed Mueang Udon Thani.

Management

The circle Mueang Udon Thani is divided into 21 subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 248 villages ( Muban ).

Udon Thani itself has a metropolitan status ( thesaban Mueang ) and consists of the whole tambon Makkhaeng and parts of Nong Bua Nong Khon Kwang.

There are seven small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Nong Bua consists of parts of tambon Nong Bua Nong Na Kham, Sam Phrao and Nong Khon Kwang.
  • Ban Chan consists of parts of tambon Ban Nong Khon Kwang Chan and
  • Na Kha covers parts of tambon Na Kha.
  • Non Sung and Nam Kham each consist of parts of the tambon Non Sung
  • Nong Sam Rong consists of the whole tambon Na Di and parts of Mu Mon and Ban Lueam.

There are also 18 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" ( TAO - administrative units ).
