Murcia (Negros Occidental)

Murcia is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Negros Occidental on the island of Negros in the Philippines. It has 75 207 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 23 barangays. It belongs to the first class of income communities in the Philippines and is described as a partially urbanized.

It is located about 17 km west of Bacolod City. The travel time is about 20 minutes by bus, jeepney or car. Your neighboring municipalities are Talisay City, Silay City to the north, San Carlos City, Don Salvador Benedicto in the east, Bago City in the south and the west borders the municipality of Bacolod City. The topography of the parish is described as hilly to mountainous.

The Mambukal Resort is located in the municipality and is known for its sulfur springs, which are used for therapeutic purposes. In the area of the resort, there are also some waterfalls, it is the most important tourist attraction.
