Ilog, Negros Occidental
Ilog is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Negros Occidental on the island of Negros in the Philippines. It has 54 423 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 15 barangays. It belongs to the second class of income communities in the Philippines and is described as a partially urbanized.
It is located about 104 kilometers south of Bacolod City. The journey time is approximately two and a half hours by bus, by car about two hours. From Kabankalan City is also possible to travel by jeepney. Your neighboring municipalities are Kabankalan City to the east, Candoni, Cauayan in the West, Hinoba - on and the province of Negros Oriental in the south. The narrow coastal strip to the north lies the Gulf of Panay, where the Ilog River flows. It forms a 50 km ² large delta.
The Dancalan cave system with the caves Cueva Kabog, Cueva Cueva Tubig and intsik located on the territory of the municipality. A very prominent mountain is Mount Kanlaoron, he has a conical shape and on its summit a cross was erected. The Andulauan Bird Watching Sanctuary is located near the beach and is a popular tourist destination.
