La Castellana, Negros Occidental

La Castellana is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Negros Occidental on the island of Negros in the Philippines. It has 71 013 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 13 barangays. It belongs to the first class of income communities in the Philippines and is described as a partially urbanized.

It is located 67 kilometers southeast of Bacolod City. The travel time is about 90 minutes by bus or jeepney. Your neighboring communities are La Carlota City, north, Guihulngan City, Canlaon City in the province of Negros Oriental in the east, Moises Padilla and Isabela along its southern boundaries, Hinigaran and Pontevedra are located west of the community. The topography of the parish is described as mountainous, the village is located at the volcano Kanlaon.

The entrance to Mount Kanlaon Natural Park is located at the Administration Center on the territory of the municipality. The Tulo - Tulo cave is located in Barangay Cabacungan in it are springs whose water is used for irrigation. The impressive Mandayao twin waterfalls have a height of about 140 meters and are located on Kanlaon. The Mandayao Shell cave has a cathedral -like cave stalactites which glow in the dark and offer an impressive light show over the small lake, which is located in the grotto.
